Her songs are available on myspace (myspace.com/sharonvanetten)
and her website (www.sharonvanetten.com)
She went on her first UK tour with Meg Baird in January 2008. Sharon will be opening for Great Lake Swimmers on their European tour in May, kicking it off with a show in London with Beirut and Shearwater. She has a new album coming out on Language of Stone called 'because I was in Love'.
Beth Jeans Houghton
In the past year 18 year old Newcastle based singer/songwriter Beth Jeans Houghton has garnered a reputation as an antidote to the current crop of acoustic songstresses. With her alternative blend of experimental folk, Beth has been hailed by the NME as "a Joni Mitchell for the anti-folk generation". With influences ranging from Frank Zappa, Vashti Bunyan, Fourtet and Love, Beth has cultivated a sound that is truly her own.
Beirut
The EPs and the albums by Beirut are largely the work of Zach Condon, a young Santa Fe, New Mexico native. Condon has recorded before: when he was fifteen and under the name of Realpeople, he made an electronic record, fashioned after his love for The Magnetic Fields. At sixteen, he recorded an entire doo-wop album that was inspired by Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers. Condon was a straight-A student until he dropped out at the age of 16 to travel Europe in a drunken haze, cavorting and partying with the locals wherever he ended up.
Noah and the Whale
Noah and the Whale is an alternative/folk group formed in Twickenham, London, England in 2006. They consist of Charlie Fink (vocals, guitar), Tom Hobden (fiddle), Matt Urby (bass), Doug Fink (drums) and, on occasion, Laura Marling (vocals, guitar). They released their debut album "Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down" - which contains the UK Top 10 hit "5 Years Time" - in August of 2008.
Peter Wolf Crier
Inter-Be is the debut album by PETER WOLF CRIER, the Minneapolis-based duo of Peter Pisano and Brian Moen. The album was born on a single summer night when Pisano felt a torrent of creativity after what had felt, to him, like an interminably long dry spell. He shared the songs with Moen, and over the months that followed, at Moen's home, these rough-hewed tunes became what they are now: a confident collection of songs, but deceptive in that their very guts still reflect the thoughts of a man in transition.

Other Lives
Kunek was a genre smoothie. Toss some indie, folk, post-rock, and ambient in a blender and set to awesome.
