What is Dorset Music Forum?

DMF is a group of music businesses & practioners joining forces to share information, promote best practice and collaborate to build a stronger music industry.

Why does it exist?
We want more people to go to more live shows.

The Background...
Dorset Music Forum is an organisation which celebrated it's 1st anniversary in October 2009. Dorset Music Forum unites music practictioners, businesses and young people across Dorset to promote knowledge transfer, consistency and sharing initiatives to increase the GDP and international and national profile of the music industry in Dorset and the South West. DMF has received no direct funding from public sector to date.

As a membership organisation, DMF needs to deliver value to stakeholders and the community alike i.e. sponsors, funding bodies, members and consumers. The community will derive value through the provision of a central resource from which to gain access to industry information, training and contacts. DMF will demonstrate the value to Funders through supporting growth of creative economy, measured by community membership and external evidence such as regional live and recorded music success. Consumers will derive value from the contribution DMF makes to supporting the industry to raise the quality of music, communication and search experience.
